3.6L DOHC V6 (Available)

Just one step up in engine size doubles the towing capacity of the new Chevy Colorado. Towing capacity isn’t the only significant improvement. There’s also a big difference in horsepower between the 4-cylinder and V6 engines. Here are the specs:
  • Best-in-class 308 horsepower
  • 275 lb-ft of torque
  • Up to 7,000-pound Chevy Colorado towing capability
  • 18 mpg city/25 highway
Duramax® 2.8L Turbo-Diesel (Available)
This engine is the monster of the three options, with 369 lb-ft of torque. This diesel engine increases the Chevy Colorado towing capacity to a maximum of 7,700 pounds without sacrificing fuel economy. So if you need to tow a big camper, this might be the option for you. Here are the specs:
  • 369 lb-ft of torque
  • 7,700-pound Chevy Colorado towing capability
  • Best-in-class 30 mpg highway
